How to Find Your Phone's Model Number or IMEI

"Hi, I need a screen for a Samsung."

As repair technicians, this is a phrase we hear daily. The problem is, Samsung has released hundreds of different phone models over the last decade. A "Samsung Galaxy A52" requires a completely different screen, battery, and charge port than a "Samsung Galaxy A52 5G" or an "A52s".

To give you an accurate quote and ensure we order the correct parts, we need the exact model number. Here is how to find it, even if your screen is broken.

1. The Settings Menu (If the screen works)

This is the easiest method.

For iPhone:
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap General, then About.
3. Look for Model Name (e.g., iPhone 13 Pro).
4. Just below that is the Model Number. (Tap the model number string once to reveal the shorter "A-number", e.g., A2638. This is the most accurate identifier).

For Samsung / Android:
1. Open Settings.
2. Scroll all the way down and tap About Phone (or About Device).
3. You will see the Product Name and the specific Model Number (e.g., SM-G991B).

2. The Universal Dial Code (The IMEI)

Every mobile phone in the world has a unique 15-digit identifier called an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). If you give us your IMEI, we can look up the exact make, model, and specifications of your device.

1. Open your phone's dialer app (where you make phone calls).

3. The IMEI will instantly pop up on the screen.

3. Physical Locations (If the screen is completely dead)

What if the phone is smashed and won't turn on? You can still find the model or IMEI physically.

• The SIM Tray: On almost all modern iPhones (iPhone 8 and newer) and many Androids, the IMEI is laser-engraved in incredibly tiny text on the metal SIM card tray. Pull the tray out and look closely under good lighting.
• The Back Glass: On older iPhones (iPhone 7 and earlier) and some older Androids, the Model Number (the A-number) and IMEI are printed directly on the bottom back of the phone.
• Inside the Charge Port: On newer iPhones, Apple has actually hidden the model number inside the roof of the USB-C or Lightning port. You need a magnifying glass and a flashlight to see it.
• The Original Box: If you still have the box the phone came in, look for a sticker on the back or bottom with barcodes. The IMEI and exact model number will be printed there.
